Location: The Ranthambore National Park is located in the district of Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan , India
Coverage Area: 1,335 Sq Kilometers

Time To Visit: The best time to visit the park can be either Nov- Feb or April-May. The former is suitable for those who like to roam around in pleasant weather while the latter is specifically for those who wish to see the tiger.
Accommodation: RTDC Hotel Kamdhenu, Sawai Madhopur Lodge, PWD Rest House, and Jogi Mahal which lies within the park premises, are some of the available means of accomodation.

Arrival Information: By rail: The Park is around appx.12 kms away from Sawai Madhopur railway station.
By air :The nearest airport is that of Jaipur, which is about 145 km away.There are regular flights of various airlines to this place.
By road : From Jaipur one has to take the road to access the national park.
Nearby cities: Sawai Madhopur.

The park, which is one of the finest tiger reserves in the country Park's deserted fortress,lakes and above all it's `friendly' tigers have made it one of the most filmed wildlife reserves in the world. Ranthambore was decalred a wildlife sanctuary in 1955 and became part of Project Tiger in 1973.

The Park sprawls over an estimated area of 400 sq kms. Steep crags embracea network of lakes and rivers, and a top one of these hills, is the impressive Ranthambore Fort, built in the 10th century. The terrain fluctuates between impregnable forests and open bushland. The forest is the typically dry deciduous type, with dhok, being the most prominent tree. The entry point to the Park, goes straight to the foot of the fort and the forest rest house, Jogi Mahal. The latter boasts of the second-largest banyan tree in India.

The varied landscape of the national park is home to animals like the jackal,mongoose, sloth bear, leopard, and of course, the tiger. Ranthambore has much more to offer you in sightseeing and excursions.

There are so many travel attractions that attracts the visitors. The area was established as a Wildlife Sanctuary in the year 1955 and it gained the status of a National Park in 1981.
